Moh’s Hardness Scale

Hardness is the measure of one structure hardness against another. French mineralologist proposed a relative scale to measure one substances ability to scratch another’s. The lower the number the softer the material, the higher the number harder the material.

5. Apatite
6. Orthoclase
7. Quartz
8. Topaz
9. Corundum (Ruby and Sapphire)
10. Diamond
